One thing I do know is since I’ve come forward with my Pet Shop Boys obsession a couple years back my life has taken a turn for the better. My room mate and I have wanted to do something like this for a while but haven’t been able to pull it together until now. Originally the name of the party was  Euroshima but after some deliberation we decided that would be the equivalent of calling a liquor store Wine Eleven. 

Expect to hear italo disco, industrial, uk house, balearic, trance, belgium new beat, italo house, early paul oakenfold, swede beat, early rave, phil harding productions, acid house, synth pop, lots of pianos, manchester vibes, new romantic and a bunch of other weird genres Bruce Springsteens never heard of. I threw 3 days of pop up parties with the amazing folks at Paper Mag (pictures here) and on the third day my friend Pase came through with this gem of a shirt. My friends Tk, James and I started this group called The Hardy Boyz almost 4 years ago and for one of our first shows we made 50 of these t-shirts. I don’t even have one so to find out Pase held his down for so long put a huge smile on my face. It almost made up for the torrential downpour that came 10 minutes after he showed up. Still in Miami 1017024_10153575892655389_1966012177_nBeing at Basel is the equivalent of being shot out of a cannon into a field of more cannons. There are no breaks, pit stops or time outs. Once you’re here you’re kinda at the mercy of Miami and the city can be pretty unforgiving. My original goal was to come here, work and take it as easy as possible. I’ve been successful at all but one of those things so far.

I have learned a couple of things since landing though. The first was that after seeing him live Wednesday night I realized I don’t know a single Kendrick Lamar song (which I can live with) and the second is that LIV is such a night life juggernaut that your Iphone doesn’t auto-correct the word “LIV” when you type it. I’m sure there’ll be more lessons learned by the end of this trip but for now viva Miami!
